Lake retreat awaits you! Smores at the fire pit, kayak, SUP, paddleboat, fish on quiet lake (catch/release). Bike/Hike trails in Carver Park/Lowry Nature Cntr. Grill dogs/burgers right outside your private, ground level living space w/ queen bed, living room, kitchen, bath, & sauna. Trails down hill to lake - watch sunset. Complimentary use of water toys. Summer, Spring Fall - enjoy swim, canoe, kayak, fishing in our duck boat, hike, bike. Winter snowshoe, ski, bike, hike!
This is an excellent, private space located in the walk-out, ground level of our home on a private lake. Windows and large slider doors open this ground level suite to the beautiful, outdoors of our back yard. There are two trails down to the lake. One is more steep and direct, one more leisure and winding. There's a little rest stop with Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the view. Large, open flat area at the lake and large platform on dock with bench offers areas to meditate or watch another from your group paddleboat, kayak, ect. Inside, there is one bedroom, an exercise room, trundle twin beds, kitchen, full bath, sauna and a nice size living room with a pull out couch. The suite can sleep 6. Inquire if interested. The living room has large sliding doors looking out to our lake where you can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, fishing, snow shoeing and other winter sports.
Our kitchen has microwave/convection oven, toaster oven, rice cooker, crockpot, glass cooktop, blender, and more. It does not have a traditional oven. There is a full, gas grill on the patio.
Check in/out times are flexible. We have it set at check in between 5-10pm and check out at noon. We understand folks want to enjoy our slice of heaven so early check-in or late check-out can be arranged depending on schedule and availability.
Guest access
We're almost always here but if not, lockbox with code.
Other things to note
If you are coming with a 3rd guest that is your child, let us know for a discount on 3rd guest.
You may use our kayak, canoe, paddle boat and paddle boards. We have life jackets as well. Inquire on use of and where to get life jackets. We share these with guests at our other BNB on the full 3.6 acre property.
We have laundry for use for our longer term guests. Additional fees may apply. Inquire if you are interested.
We have a sauna. It’s great! The light switch is outside the door. The control module is inside the sauna. It’s pretty self explanatory. If you have questions, inquire. There is no need to put water on the rocks and we passionately request you do not. It is highly likely you will trigger our smoke detector if you do. If the fire department comes, we may require you to pay the false alarm fee. So, it’s best to not put water on the rocks. If by chance you do splash some on and open the door letting a boat load of steam out, be prepared for the alarm!
There is no mechanical A/C! All natural breeze cooling, ceiling fan and space fan. A wood burning stove and lots of blankets if it should get cold out. You are almost one with the outdoors! Instead of a tent you have walls, windows and large sliding glass doors you can open to experience the fresh outdoor air and hear the owls, loons and coyotes at night!
There are no curtains on the windows because that would obstruct your view of the beautiful outdoors! You can look out Bathroom and Bedroom windows but unless someone can levitate or takes out a very tall ladder, they cannot see in.
Check in/out times are flexible. We have it set at check in between 5-10pm and check out at 11am. We understand folks want to enjoy our slice of heaven so early check-in or late check-out can be arranged depending on schedule and availability. We do our best to accommodate!
Fishing catch and release only please. Fish guts not allowed in our trash or yard. We like nature but maggots and flies .... not so much!

The bathroom on the main floor is a half bath. The full baths with shower and tubs are in the lower level. There are also many stairs to get to the lake. If you have trouble with stairs, this may not be the spot for you.
Pets are welcome. Pets are people too. The listed pet fee is per pet per stay for our four legged guests. If you have more than one pet, we’ll need to approve that in advance. Please let us know details of your pet when you make your reservation request. If deposits are left in yard, you’ll be billed. If you have a tendency to not pick up da poppy, this may not be the place for you.
Please wash all dishes used during your stay! Dish soap is provided. Do not leave dirty dishes in sink or on counters. All dishes used must be cleaned and returned to their appropriate spaces? If you use the dishwasher, DO NOT use the "heat dry" option. Plastic plates and glasses may melt. If dishes are melted from use of dishwasher, there will be a charge for replacing dishes. Be sure to check that "Heat Dry" is turned off. There are notes in the cupboard where the dishes are located. There are enough dishes for 12 people. It is not a bad idea to bring paper plates and compostable/recyclable silverware and cups. There’s a laundry. Please bring your own detergent if you intend to do your laundry during your stay.
There are two ovens. The top one has self cleaning. So if your dishes tend to overflow, we'd really appreciate you using the top oven and wiping up the overflow as best you can. Thank you. There's a dehumidifier in the lower level. If it gets too little humid or damp for you in the lower level, turn it on. It will pull the humidity out in no time!!
There's a fire pit. Bring your own dry wood. You may find plenty of wood around the property. However, it might not be dry. So best to stop at the gas station and get yourself a nice, dry bunch. We recommend getting some marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate while you're there. Be sure fire is out before you head in for the night.
Use of property and any lake toys are at your own risk. Return them to their proper homes when you have finished.
If you're a small party of two using a small portion of the home, let us know. We can work a reduced cleaning rate for you. It's a big house!
Events including additional guests above the confirmed reservation must be approved. Event fees of $40/additional guest will apply. Inquire and approve before your stay. If day guests arrive during your stay that have not been approved, an added fee/guest/day will be assessed. This behavior may result in immediate cancellation of your reservation without refund as is consistent with Airbnb policy. We allow events that are discussed, approved and payment agreed upon prior to a reservation. We do not allow events that are a surprise and not discussed and approved of ahead of time. Communication is key.
Parking is limited to 5 cars. If you expect to have more, we need to discuss and arrange for alternative parking solutions. PARK on the gravel driveway. DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS. And absolutely DO NOT park on the neighbors yard. There is a pink string along the property line. Tho shalt not cross the pink line! :-) We do not have room for trailers and there is no public access on our lake. If you plan to bring a boat and trailer for use on another lake in the area, discuss this at the time of reserving so we can help you plan and make this possible.
Other than that, have a blast! It’s a super cool spot!

The uniqueness of our neighborhood is that we have the lake on one side and a long driveway to the road. Thus, we only have neighbors on 2 sides. We are on 2.6 acres and our backyard is a 100 acre private lake. On the other side of the lake is all nature park land with lots of trails to walk or bike on. You can walk to downtown Victoria or take a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike to downtown Excelsior. We are conveniently located close to all the amenities you need (grocery, gas, Target) but you will feel like you are in the country.

We enjoyed three nights at this beautiful Home on a pristine lake. Truly felt like we were home. If only…! Debbie met us at check-in and was there whenever we needed assistance. Highly recommend

Debbie was very responsive with any questions we had. Beautiful property on the water with many fun amenities. It was so peaceful and well setup. If you are a sauna person this is a must! We rented waverunners for two days on lake Minnetonka only 5 minutes away it was amazing.
